This motel was poorly run and the owners clearly did not care about the quality and the possibility of returning guests.… The mattresses had water stains throughout and the towels were thread bare. The air conditioner worked for 15 minutes, then quit completely. When we were finally able to get into our room, it didn't look too bad on the surface, but this room was not clean. In the meantime, a three year old child was running the halls at this hour (10 PM), running outside looking for her mother who was out getting groceries for the morning breakfast. A woman finally appeared and told me that the room I was assigned to hadn't been cleaned and she would have to finish cleaning a different room. After I realized this after trudging up a flight of stairs, I went back to the desk and waited 15 minutes for anyone to answer the phone. I was checked in by a young man into a room that was not ready for occupancy. First of all this motel is way over priced at $97 per night. I felt lucky to find a room on a holiday, but I should have kept going on the road. I stayed with a family member at the Budget Host Inn & Suites on Mille Lacs Lake in Onamia MN on August 31, 2013.
